It was with sadness I read of the passing of Joyce. I worked with her in the Indianapolis HUD Office from 1988 to 1995. She was a wonderful coworker and always greeted each day as an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.

I remember the honor I had to present Joyce with her 50 year Service Pin and special recognition from HUD. It was an honor because Joyce represented everything good about Federal Employees and work done in the Federal Government. She was a personal favorite coworker of mine because she always had a great story, and a great smile to share, and I always went back to my office in a better mood after talking with her.

She has been called to a better place, but I will miss her, and all she brought to her coworkers and friends.

To Carole and family. Joyce was a true lady. She was one of the nicest persons I ever met. I will never forget the times I stopped to talk to her in Charlottesville. She was always so charming. My deepest sympathy.

Joyce was one of the first smiling faces who greeted me when I joined HUD in 1990. She was a truly remarkable person in so many ways, facing life with an unsurpassed wit and charm. We enjoyed playing bridge together for much of the past 15 years and shared many, many laughs. She will absolutely be missed.
